Project EntriesNot Like Most releases its 17th issue with more of the best in Satanic thought. As usual, NLM gives you the lowdown on what the Church of Satan's most productive members are up to in our On The Infernal Front column. Mediabolica brings you plenty of Satanic media reviews, including all of the relevant books released during 2007 -- the Year of Satanic Literature. We also have essays from Magister George Sprague, Reverend Bryan Moore, Reverend Colonel Akula, Magister James Sass, and others spanning topics such as atheism, the Internet, Ed Wood, adventurism, work, and more. Also included is an interview with the men behind the CoS member-only record label, Black House Tribute Records; parody ads from "Father Christopher;" an excerpt from Magister Paradise's book, Bearing The Devil's Mark; and a stirring tribute to the memory of Warlock Krowklaws from Bill M. Books EntriesIntroducing a Caustic Collection of World-famous Quotations that Truly Gives the Devil his Due!

In 2002, Purging Talon had released the first edition of The Book of Satanic Quotations. Now, six years later, it will be available in a new SECOND EDITION... professionally bound, color cover, fully indexed, and with many more authors and quotes than its predecessor. Also contained will be classic illustrations of devilry from the past 500+ years and a special new introduction by Purging Talon Executive Director, Matt G. Paradise, a Magister in the Church of Satan and author of Bearing The Devil's Mark. (more under the fold...)

Project EntriesSo, the new book is doing well. I've gotten a number of interview requests, quite a few book review offers (including a local one), and some great feedback and comments. Regarding the last, it would be beneficial to see more of them out there. E-mailing or PMing me with your praise for the book is great (and I do appreciate it, by the way), as it often helps me gauge the reality of future book releases, but that same praise would also aid other folks in their buying decision if it were available publicly. If this is an activity that interests you, comment away on MySpace, message boards, etc, and offer a link to the book's buying page. You'd be surprised how effective mere word-of-mouth advertising is. And if you see a mention of BTDM that you think I might have missed, drop me a line about that, too. Thanks.

More on current and future projects under the fold...

We Are Not Men, We Are TiVo! Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Television EntriesOver the past few weeks, I've gone on a bit of a tech binge. In addition to setting up a wireless broadband network for all three of my machines in my place, and installing PCI cards in my tower Mac because I could never have too many USB 2.0 and Firewire plugs (which means I'll probably stop at 30), I decided to heave ho the ol' Comcast DVR service and join the TiVo Nation. (It's like a tribe, but without all of the whiskey and roadside jewelry.) This means I've had to deal with Comcast's tech support. Yes, the same people who couldn't figure out how to give me their newsgroup access address (and stand in awe as I did when I was met with the words, "What is USENET?" from the way-over-her-head gal). Given that, you can imagine that the move from their terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad DVR service to one that actually works was fraught with ineptitude and delays. So, come with me now as we cross the rainbow bridge over the sea of dreams... no, not to find the sacred heart (because that's Dio's job) but to get to the end of this not very "Comcastic" tale...

Internet EntriesGiven the busy nature of late-December for me (read: magazine work, and now other project work), I figured I'd spend a post discussing some of the worthwhile projects some of my close associates and even good friends are doing. I consider myself fortunate to have some truly productive and motivated individuals amongst the ranks of my friends, and so I give a brief rundown of what some of them are up to so you, the discriminating browser, can educate yourself on the same...

Internet EntriesThe following news story from 15 Dec 07 covers some idiot kid who got what he deserved after deluding himself into believing the Church of Satan would advocate his claimed desire to commit murder. And, of course, the story has exploded on the blogosphere, largely to the tune of lame, predictable and heavily misinformed hipsters all trying to prove how cynical and condescending they can be, all to impress... someone. You can do the search for that nonsense, if you'd like. Under the fold is the lead article on the events. Oh, and buy my book. [continued...]

Bearing The Devil's Mark: Update (11/17) Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Books EntriesAs some of you may have already discovered, an official press release on the book had been issued, and pre-orders will begin 23 November 2007. If you have not seen it, it will be posted here and under the fold of this post. I would certainly like to thank both Melanie Laetitia Mantis and Diabolus Rex for their collaborative contribution to this book's cover. The cover itself is already getting a lot of strong and positive comments, and I'd like to redirect the bulk of that praise to those responsible. Again, thank you.

Bearing The Devil's Mark: Update (9/26) Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Books EntriesYou learn a lot of things when compiling/writing a book that are so singular to the process, and somewhat different from publishing a magazine, as I've been doing with one title or another since 1993. A close friend of mine took 10 years to put his book out, and I'm starting to see why: If you want to do it right, it takes a great deal of time. So, most of my recreational weekends have gone out the window and been replaced with cramming book work into them. No regrets at all, as I enjoy the process, though perhaps some folks in my life might feel upstaged by something called "Bearing The Devil's Mark" at this point. With that, I'm going to point out some of the considerations I've come upon that I feel will make the book better, and might even entertain the rest of you non-publishers, too. Down the rabbit-hole, we go...

Books EntriesSorry to the Canada clan about not posting a birthday post. No time. Maybe later, if I can.

Things are going full steam ahead with the new book. I'm sticking with the title, Bearing The Devil's Mark, and will be working with an artist to design the cover over the next few months. When that's secured and done, I'll give a plug to the artist herself. Good stuff, though. I'm happy with my choice and don't consider it a compromise in the slightest from other failed choices. Her work is top notch and the most fitting for my book, so she's in. Again, I'll get more detailed in a later post. (more on the process under the fold...)
